READ A CHAPTER A DAY (Fall 2026 Sermon Series)
10 New Testament Letters to Shape My Heart

Week 1: Introduction

This fall, we are joining United Methodists in Read a Chapter a Day, reading through ten New Testament letters together: Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1 & 2 Thessalonians, 1 & 2 Timothy, Titus, and Philemon.

These letters were written to Christians who had already heard and believed the gospel but were learning what it meant to live differently because of Jesus. Together, they address questions about faith, church, relationships, hope, Christian character, and daily life. Although each letter speaks to a different situation, they share a foundation: the gospel begins not with what we do for God, but with what God has already done for us in Jesus Christ.

The order matters: Grace → New Identity → New Life. As 2 Corinthians 5 reminds us, anyone who is in Christ is a new creation. We do not read Scripture to earn God’s favor. We read because we have already received new life in Christ, and through His Word, God continues to shape our hearts and teach us how to live that new life.

Beginning September 8, let us open the Bible one chapter at a time and ask: What is God teaching me? How is the gospel shaping my heart, my life, and the way I treat others? May the gospel we read become the gospel we live.

💙 Celebrating Our Amazing Volunteers!

Since rebuilding KidZone & reNEW Youth in 2019, we’ve grown from just a few children to nearly 100 kids each night! We couldn’t do it without the amazing people who give their time and love each week.

Ages 4–Kindergarten: Kayla Cowan & Tiffany Eddy (Not Pictured)
1st & 2nd: Darci Kehlbeck & Aubrey Einspahr
3rd & 4th: Lori Titus & Kelly Livengood
5th & 6th: Nicole Roeder
reNEW Youth (7th–12th): Gwen Mai & Katherine Franklin

And a huge thank you to Brock Einspahr, Katie Short, Morgan Pritchard, Rev. Younghwan Won, and all of our wonderful kitchen cooks and helpers! ❤️

As we continue to grow, we could use a few more helping hands! Some of our groups are now reaching 15–20 kids, and having a few additional volunteers would help us give each child the time and attention they deserve.

Interested? Talk with one of our teachers, contact the church office or Pastor Young, or join us for our KidZone & reNEW Youth Planning Meeting Tuesday, August 18 at 7:30 PM.

“Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.”
